2 Mikarie Place, Kirrawee, NSW 2232.

Yes, Mikarie has a DL brochure that can be very helpful.

You can download the brochure here.

Mikarie provides children aged 6 weeks to 6 years a safe and supportive environment and caters for up to 75 children each day.

Mikarie provides a balance of indoor and outdoor experiences designed to stimulate an eagerness to learn while developing your child’s thinking, social, physical, emotional, communication and creative potential.

Monday – Friday from 7am to 6pm each day. The centre is closed all NSW Public Holidays and during the Christmas/New Year period (dates will be communicated in the service each year).

The fees are listed under each room type in the Our Rooms section of the website. The fees listed do not include any Child Care Subsidy (CCS) that you may be eligible for.

Mikarie Child Care Centre is an inclusive long day care centre that provides early education and quality care for children with and without disability in one setting. We operate like any other child care centre except that we have additional supports available for children with disability.

All Mikarie children learn social inclusion and understand that we’re all the same inside. Children will carry these values with them throughout the rest of their lives.

Children with disability and their families benefit from an expanded social circle at the centre, as well as spending their formative years in an environment that is inclusive and encouraging of people of all abilities. The centre’s practices have positive implications in other early childhood settings and in the broader community.

Children with disability who require additional support will be enrolled in their age-appropriate room.  If they require a ratio of support that is above the age-appropriate room ratio, it will be risk assessed and negotiated on a case-by-case basis, in consideration of Inclusion Support Program funded resources and the health and safety requirements of the child.

Sylvanvale established Mikarie after it conducted research that revealed a profound lack of adequate early education for children with disability in the local community. The research also highlighted the benefits of inclusion not just for children with disability, but for all children and the community more broadly.

Children should be dressed in practical clothing for the activities they will be participating in and that is suitable for outdoor play, i.e. sun smart clothing that protects the skin (as much as possible), particularly the shoulders, back and stomach.

All nappies and wipes are provided by Mikarie!

Children attending Mikarie are offered food and beverages appropriate to their individual needs on a regular basis throughout the day. Food and beverages are included in daily fees.

Catering is provided by a premier service exclusively devoted to taking care of children’s catering needs by providing fresh, nutritious, home-style meals. All of the children’s food requirements for the entire day are provided.

Children will have access to safe drinking water at all times. Drinks are served at every meal time and drink bottles are available to children at all times and refilled throughout the day.

The food and beverages provided are nutritious, adequate in quantity and are chosen having regard to the dietary requirements of individual children. We also take into account each child’s growth and development needs and any specific cultural, religious or health requirements.

Yes, the service is a nut free zone.

The outside play area at Mikarie is a valuable external classroom where children can expand their explorative skills and participate in physical and social games. Educators plan outside experiences to reflect the seasonal changes and take advantage of well-shaded areas. Between 11am and 3pm, during the months of October to March, outdoor activities will be reduced. This includes reducing both the frequency and duration children are outside.
Sun safe learning experiences are embedded into daily routines. Role modelling the application of sunscreen, wearing broad rimmed or bucket style hats and appropriate protective clothing is part of our educational program. Mikarie provides sunscreen for use at the centre!
